We looked at what our available options were with regards to types of publicity: Internet, website, facebook, links from other sites, blogs, newspapers, magazines, letters, flyers, posters, word of mouth-we wanted to use it all!
I'd started this project on my own and already made a start on some areas of publicity such as the website and flyers, also the chalk boards we would stand near the stall at festivals to advertise. With a new injection of energy from volunteers we started looking at each persons strengths and tried to divide the publicity jobs accordingly. Caroline and I - Flyers/booklet and plant care sheets Alison, Caroline,Pete and I - Website Alison and I - blurb for press releases We ran the ideas past each other before making final copies. Caroline Scott and myself had the role of designing the art work and putting together promotional/contact flyers. We both have a background of art and design and Caroline is very good with computers whereas I am not (although learning more all the time) So I designed the graphics and she converted them into a format we could use for flyers. Alison McNeill sorted us out with a calender so people could see what we were up to and if we would be free for their event. We all worked on every area of the website at some point. See below What went well? The flyers went down really well as did the plant care sheets. People thought they were a nice touch and helped to reinforce the messages of reusing waste and caring for the planet. The website was also well received and we have received bookings through it. What didn't work so well? I don't think we made enough use of the radio and the newspapers although this was always the intention. This is linked with organisation mainly. The Rejuicynator turned out to be a difficult object to photograph in full without the picture looking cluttered and hard to work out Next Steps The Rejuicynator has been on hold for 6 months and will hopefully continue within the next year. This time around I will be sure to contact local papers when we attend an event and potentially make a new website. I was offered the opportunity to have The Rejuicynator photographed in a studio setting with a white background so that it's easy to see each different element of it's construction. I would like to do this. What have I learned?

Website
I wanted the website to clearly show what we did and what we were about, especially on the home page.
Also I felt it was important to link with other people not only for advertising but to get their messages out there too, especially with people who had helped us out like Masham Skip Hire, UnLtd, Leeds Community Foundation and Horsebox Renewables-to name a few.
The internet is a brilliant tool to reach people all over the country and the world with your ideas and I have found it really encouraging that we have been contacted by interested parties from the UK and abroad.

Plant Care Sheet
These are given away with every reused cup that has compost and seeds in it.
I wanted to use the reverse to remind people of a few simple things they could do to lower their ecological impact.
Caroline Scott made both sides of the flyer below
